Biodegradable film production from agroforestry and fishery residues with active compounds

چکیده
An increasing interest in food packaging materials without environmental impact and able to improve shelf life has emerged the last decade. The aim of this work was produce biodegradable films from agroforestry (pine stumps) fishery (chitosan) residues with active compounds. N-carboxybutylchitosan (CBC) were developed inclusion a reinforcing material (cellulose), plasticizers (silicone or glycerol) and/or an antioxidant extract pine stumps. These characterised terms physicochemical properties cytotoxicity. Films glycerol presented higher elasticity, while pure CBC showed most adequate water vapour barrier properties. had thickness values (55–70 ?m) similar commercial ones, slightly hydrophobic (contact angles ? 84–102 °). All revealed low cytotoxicity, exception extract-loaded films. However, these have potential increase decrease photo-oxidation, due their opacity/brown colour.

Biodegradable kefiran-chitosan-nanocellulose blend film: Production and physical, barrier, mechanical, thermal, and structural properties
In this study, biodegradable kefiran-chitosan-nanocellulose blend films were developed and their physical, mechanical, barrier, thermal and structural properties determined. Results showed that adding nanocellulose had not any significant effect on the thickness, moisture content and water solubility. Also, water vapor permeability, tensile strength and lightness increased and the elongation at...
متن کاملLCA of biodegradable multilayer film from biopolymers
Multilayer films exhibit excellent properties for food packaging. However, existing products are not biodegradable. Conventional plastics, manufactured from fossil fuels, not only consume non-renewable and finite resources, but also impact heavily on waste disposal. A new multilayer film has been developed in the Multibio Project for the production of food packaging. In this paper, the environm...
متن کاملProduction and Characterization of Surface-active Compounds from Gordonia amicalis
Two methods were used to make crude preparations of surface-active compounds (SACs) produced by Gordonia amicalis grown on the medium containing 1% diesel oil. Using a 2:1 (v/v) solution of chloroform:methanol for extraction, Type I SACs were isolated and shown to produce oil in water (O/W) emulsions. Type II SACs were isolated by precipitation with ammonium sulfate and produced predominantly w...
متن کاملBiohydrogen Production from Starch Residues
This review summarizes the potential of starch agroindustrial residues as substrate for biohydrogen production. Types of potential starch agroindustrial residues, recent developments and bio-processing conditions for biohydrogen production will be discussed. Biohydrogen is a clean energy source with great potential to be an alternative fuel, because it releases energy explosively in heat engine...
متن کاملCharacterization of a new biodegradable edible film based on Sago Starch loaded with Carboxymethyl Cellulose nanoparticles
Objective(s): Biodegradable film is widely used because it is free from synthetic substances and does not lead to environment pollution. This study aimed to prepare and characterize biodegradable sago starch films loaded with Carboxymethyl Cellulose nanoparticles. Methods: Sago starch films were prepared and plasticized with sorbitol/ glycerol by t...
